Okobo Legislator Prioritises Free Education in Okobo Constituency

The member of Akwa Ibom State Parliament, representing Okobo State Constituency, Hon. Bassey Pius Basseyhas taken a significant stride towards fostering educational standards in his constituency.


 Through the "Okobo Back to School Project," Bassey who is the Chairman, House Committee on Environment, has generously donated instructional materials, including writing items and lesson notes, to public primary schools across all wards in Okobo.


This initiative is in tandem with the Educational Advancement Vision of His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno's ARISE AGENDA blueprint, showing Hon. Bassey's commitment to investing in the younger generation.


By providing essential tools, he aims to  revive lost and torn hope, stimulate students' interest, facilitate effective learning, and achieve learning objectives.


The beneficiary schools include: Government School, Okobo; St. Theresa's Primary Schools, Okopedi; St. Patrick Primary School, Amamong; Government Primary Schools, Obot Inwang; St. Andrew Primary School, Oti-Oro.



Others include: St. Peter's RCM School, Nung Etta; Methodist School, Offi-Oro; Government Primary School, Udung Ukpong/Akai Ndyo; St. Bridget Primary School, Udung Afia; St. John's RCM School, Nsie Oro; Government Primary School, Utine, Atak Oro; St. James Catholic School, Obufa Okobo and Government School, Ebughu Ebu/Ebughu Etta


Headmistresses of the beneficiary schools, including Mrs. Nkoyo Efiong Etara, Mrs. Nkoyo Efiong Akpanyanga and others, expressed gratitude to Hon. Bassey, highlighting the relief these materials bring to parents and the critical role they play in easing learning processes.


They assured their continued efforts to improve educational standards at the grassroots level.
