ARISE YOUTH EMPLOYMENT PORTAL NOT PARTY AFFILIATES - GOV ENO ASSURES YOUTHS

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor (Dr.) Umo Eno has assured youths of the state that Arise Youth Employment Portal will not be used in connection with party affiliates. 


He noted that all party affiliates will be kept aside not allowing it to divide the youths and people of the state.


The Governor made this known recently during the launching of the Arise Youth Employment Portal held at Ibom Icon Hotel and Golf Resort, Uyo.


"Arise Youth Employment Portal will not be used base on party affiliates, when vetting for data, they will not ask for political party, any body asking for party you belong, report such person, when it time for politics you will decide which party you work for".


He reassured the youths that the state government will continue to partner with the youths to make sure Arise Youth Employment Portal create jobs and enhance the wellbeing of the people. 


The Chief Executive Officer of the State noted that Arise Youth Employment Portal will serve as a  comprehensive one-stop site for all employment related activities in the state with job opportunity to segmented according to skill sets. 


He said that Akwa Ibom State has some of the most talented youths with marketable skills sets in the nation from artisans to ICT professionals to chefs and highly skilled experts across sectors.


Pastor Eno urged those in the private sector, especially those engaging in business with the state government to utilize the portal.


In his words, "with the launch of this Arise Youth Employment Portal, all employers of labor in the state ranging from  civil service to the private sector, are to utilize this portal for their employment opportunities".


He stressed that the portal will be handling computer aptitude and skills tests especially for prospective civil servants.


The governor highlighted that Akwa Ibom State Bureau of Statistic will soon be launch in order to gather reliable data on job creation adding that State Labour Committee will also be inaugurated in order to oversees the employment process for fairness and transparency.


He encouraged the youths to visit the site for regular updates stressing that various employment schemes such as Arise Entrepreneurial Support, Bursary/Education Grants and Youths Business Support will be handling in the portal.


Lecturing on the used of the portal, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on ICT, Dr. Frank Ekpenyong maintained that the portal will be used to register unemploy youths and also open up to labour market thereby ensuring that citizens gain access to the employment opportunity.


Earlier in his goodwill message, the Head of Civil Service, Elder Effiong Essien, thanked the governor for his initiatives in  creating a lot of short cut that will enable the civil service commission to function effectively during recruitment exercise.


Also, the representative of the private sector and the CEO of  Hensek Integration Services, Engr. Uwem Okoko commended the governor for launching the employment portal, stressing that it will assists the private sector to easily locate the skilled and unskilled labour for the construction companies.
