 LG POLL: "PDP is the only Party that will bring development" - Speaker Otong

Rt. Hon. (Elder) Udeme Otong, Speaker of Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly ( AKHA ) said that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is the only party that will bring development and dividends of democracy to the people of Abak Local Government Area and State in general. 


Speaker Otong made this known yesterday during the PDP ward campaign tours to the 5 wards in Abak Urban, urging constituents to support and vote massively for PDP candidates in their wards as it's the surest way to development in the area. 


Accompanied by his dear wife and President of LEWA, Deaconess Margaret Otong, the Speaker commended His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno for road construction in the area and other infrastructural development, assuring the people that more dividends of democracy would be witnessed as Mrs Ime Charles Effiong is elected as Chairperson for the Local Government come October 5, 2024.


Speaking earlier, the PDP Chairmanship candidate, Pastor (Mrs) Ime Charles Effiong, thanked stakeholders and Party faithful across the wards for their support, assuring the people of good governance when elected. 


Mrs Ime Charles Effiong, called on the women, Elders, men, and youths to support her aspiration, as it would bring growth and prosperity to the area. Highlighting her plans for the area through her BEST agenda in line with the ARISE AGENDA of His Excellency Pastor Umo Eno, Mrs Charles promises to empower the youths, create capacity development programmes, and assure bursary payments for students, among others.


In their separate speeches, the Party Executive,  Elders, Women, Youths, and Students in all the wards, through their representatives, pledged total support to the Chairmanship Candidate, Mrs Ime Charles Effiong and other PDP candidates. 


Decampees from other mushroom parties in the area were officially received into PDP by the Chapter Chairman, Mr. Akaninyene Ntia. They were charged to work for the success of the party and the emergence of Mrs Ime Charles Effiong and other PDP candidates in their respective wards.
