The Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Natella Business Academy (NBA), Dr. Mfon Joseph Edem, has organised a one-day IED Entrepreneurship Boot Camp for entrepreneurs in Akwa Ibom State.

The maiden edition of the boot camp took place Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at the Ibom Leadership Entrepreneurship Development Center in Uyo, christened "Empowering Entrepreneurs for Economic Growth - Building Sustainable Businesses in Akwa Ibom State,". The event brought together intelligent and successful entrepreneurial participants from across the 31 Local Government Areas of the state, including representatives nominated by the 26 Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly Legislators in the eighth Assembly.

The boot camp featured interactive sessions, group presentations, certificate presentations, group photographing and many more. Participants shared their business ideas and life experiences, making the event truly insightful and educating.

Interacting with Explicit Magazine, Dr. Edem expressed delight at the massive participation, despite the short notice of publicity, noting that the programme aligns with the core five agendas of Akwa Ibom State Governor, His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, to unveil the potentials within the state.

"We have entrepreneurs within the state that lack one or two skills that should bring out their entrepreneurial businesses to the fore. That is why my team and I decided to take up this project to educate and throw more light on how to grow and sustain a business in this era," Dr. Edem said.

The NBA's CEO emphasised that the event aimed to remodel and rekindle the mindset of entrepreneurs on basic essentials that would make them succeed in their businesses, while stated that he is willing to collaborate and train entrepreneurs in one or two skills that would add value to their endeavours.

"We plan to do something mega, targeting about 1000 to 2000 entrepreneurs in Akwa Ibom in the next quarter, three to six months, and take them through the same process with more in-depth training for three to five days," he assured.

One of the participants, a serving corp member, Olakunle Sunday Olalekan, commended the organiser of the training, saying it was an eye-opener for many entrepreneurs. He appealed for more such events to be organised for entrepreneurs.

The boot camp was a resounding success, providing entrepreneurs with valuable insights and skills to grow and sustain their businesses. With plans for future events, NBA is set to make a lasting impact on the entrepreneurial landscape of Akwa Ibom State.
